When the serenade group Deo Decim once melted the hearts of female students on the RAU campus, even they could not have imagined what would follow…
A few years later, in 2004, Navi Redd was born — a group that would go on to become one of South Africa’s most popular a cappella ensembles.
Navi Redd’s five men have entertained and amazed thousands of South Africans across every corner of the country with music, rhythms and sounds created using nothing but vocal cords, lips and tongues.
Navi Redd uses everything except instruments to captivate audiences. They sing, imitate a variety of percussion instruments, and create sound effects and rhythms using only breath, vocal cords, lips and tongues. An abundance of humour is woven into every Navi Redd performance.
